1999 Chevrolet Corvette

In 1999, Chevrolet Corvette coupe and convertible got another sister trim, the
hardtop. This hardtop came available only with a six-speed manual transmission.
Another highlight for the 1999 Corvette was the additional options that include
a head-up display unit that worked to protect major information on the windshield
in front of the driver. Aside from the standard transmission and an optional power
seats for the hardtop model, all three trims shared an almost same features. All
three trims were carrying 5.7 Liter V8 engines that generated 345 horsepower at
5600 rpm and 350 lb-ft of torque at 4400 rpm. Fuel economy data includes 17-18
mpg on city and 25-28 mpg on highway. A standard 4-speed automatic transmission
with overdrive or an optional 6-speed manual overdrive paired the powerplant of
both the coupe and the convertible.
Seating capacity for all trims is 2 and it offered many standard features such
as air conditioning, power windows, power door locks, leather seats and power
seats except that the hardtop got the power seats as optional equipment. There
were also the standard cassette player and the optional CD player as entertainment
equipment. For safety features, there were standard driver and passenger airbags,
ABS brakes and traction control while stability control was offered as option.
