2000 Chevrolet Corvette
The 2000 model edition of the Chevrolet Corvette, the passenger door-lock cylinder
was removed. On the other hand, the Z51 Performance Handling Package came in improved
and with larger front and rear stabilizers bars. There were newly available interior
and exterior colors and a new 5-spoke forged aluminum wheels. Still available
in three trims, the hardtop, coupe and the convertible, all sported a 5.7 Liter
V8 engine that generated 345 horsepower at 5600 rpm and 350 lb-ft of torque at
4400 rpm. A standard 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission or the optional
6-speed manual transmission paired the coupe's and the convertible's engine while
a standard 6-speed manual overdrive was the sole transmission for the hardtop.
Fuel economy data for both the coupe and the convertible includes 17-18 mpg on
city and 25-27 mpg on highway while the hardtop got 18/27 mpg on city/highway.
Standard equipments for the Corvettes this year include air conditioning, power
windows, power door locks and leather seats. The coupe and the convertible got
an additional power seats while it comes optional for the hardtop. All three trims
hauls 2 people inside. A standard cassette player and an optional CD player was
the available equipment for entertainment. For safety, standard features such
as driver and passenger airbags, ABS brakes and traction control and the optional
stability control were included.
