2003 Chevrolet Corvette
In 2003, the Chevrolet Corvette had marked its 50th anniversary and launched
the Corvette's 50th Anniversary Edition that are available as coupe or convertible
that are powered by an LS1 engines. In this year, anniversary edition received
features such as deep red paint, Magnetic Selective Ride Control system and specially
designed logos. There were also additional standard features for this year's models
that includes power passenger seats and dual-zone climate control system while
the Z06 came in unchanged in most aspects. A standard 5.7 Liter V8 that give off
350 horsepower at 5600 rpm paired with either the 4-speed automatic transmission
or the 6-speed manual was the available powerplant for both the coupe and the
convertible. The Z06, however, got an improved V8, which made it belts a 405-horsepower
with a standard 6-speed manual transmission.
For the interior features, all trims got standard equipments such as air conditioning
with dual-zone automatic climate control, power steering, tilt leather-wrapped
steering wheel, cruise control, leather upholstery, bucket seats and 6-way power
seats. There were also features such as Bose AM/FM/CD player, digital clock, tachometer,
outside-temperature indicator, map lights, illuminated visor mirrors, remote decklid/hatchback
release and floormats. The anniversary edition models, on the other hand got more,
including a Shale interior. On the outside, the Corvette was basically unchanged
except for some additional badges and other features that marked the anniversary
of Corvette. Talk about safety, all Corvettes offered dual front airbags, antilock
4-wheel disc brakes, anti-skid system, tire pressure monitor and traction control.
